Our Process

Our proven process means your loved one's progress.

Processes at Courtyard Manor of Wixom, Michigan From the start, our person-centered process allows residents (and their families/guardians) to be actively involved in their treatment plan and progress.

Here is how it works:

Call us, make an appointment for a tour or simply drop in. We're happy to schedule an assessment within two days of your expressed interest in Courtyard Manor of Wixom. In addition, we can set up detailed tours, visits and presentations at your earliest convenience to further highlight our care and capabilities.

After our initial assessment, potential residents can visit for a few hours or an entire day to "try life on" here as part of our unique pre-placement program. That way, residents can see what their potential could be in this progressive, home-like environment. During these visits, we hope to establish a rapport between a few key staff members and prospective residents.

Upon admission, the assessment process helps us determine each resident's unique needs and specific goals for treatment. We put all our assessments, guides and goals into a Treatment Plan for each person. Each resident is also assigned a case manager and will receive individual and/or group therapy based on their needs. In addition, each resident receives a discharge plan at admission designed to help them move on to more independent living, whenever possible.

Our emphasis is on providing a high-quality daily life. We believe in using the least amount of medication necessary for the highest level of functioning. We also offer a highly structured and interactive program. Our community's days are full of activities and psychosocial groups. We encourage active family participation and are constantly seeking input to improve our program.

We also focus on early intervention and treatment to prevent crises and avoid hospitalization whenever possible. We use quarterly team meetings to gather feedback and review a resident's existing treatment with staff, family/guardians, residents themselves and case managers.

Our reward program reinforces compliance and encourages progress. We strive to reintegrate residents into the community and hope to place as many individuals as possible into more independent living.
